Cookie Policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies Chairside (operated by Haiway Technologies LLC) actually uses today. We keep this list short on purpose — read it against our Privacy Policy for how the underlying data is handled.

1. Cookies we set today

All cookies Chairside currently sets are strictly necessary — the site doesn't function correctly without them. None of them are used for advertising, and none are sold or shared with third parties.

• Session / authentication cookies — set by Supabase Auth when you sign in as an owner, barber, client, or super admin. These keep you logged in as you move between pages. Without them you'd be asked to sign in on every click.
• Cross-subdomain session cookie (owners only, when enabled) — lets an owner's session survive moving between the main app and their shop's subdomain (yourshop.chairside.haiwaytechnologies.com).
• Maintenance-mode bypass cookie — set only for the operator (Juan) during planned maintenance windows, so the team can verify a fix while the public sees the maintenance page. Expires automatically after 8 hours.

2. Cookies our payment processor may set

When you enter card details (subscription checkout, or a shop's no-show/card-on-file flow), that form is rendered by Stripe, not by us. Stripe may set its own cookies for fraud prevention and to keep the payment session working. We don't control these directly — see Stripe's Cookie Policy for details.

3. What we don't do yet

Chairside does not currently run any analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies. The product has a placeholder analytics hook (src/lib/analytics.ts) that is a no-op until we turn on a provider. If and when we do — likely a privacy-respecting, cookieless-by-default tool — we'll update this page first and, if the provider uses cookies, add the disclosure and any consent banner required in your jurisdiction before it goes live.

4. Your choices

Because every cookie we set today is strictly necessary, there's no cookie preference toggle in the app — turning them off would break sign-in. You can still block or delete cookies at the browser level; doing so will sign you out and may break the booking flow. Most browsers let you review and clear cookies under Settings → Privacy.

5. Changes to this policy

When we materially change what cookies we set — especially if we turn on analytics — we'll update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, note it the same way we handle Privacy Policy updates.
